[Screenshots] Alt Week – Warlock

I have a weird relationship with Warlocks, for many years I didn’t like playing them at all. But since the class revamp, I love them — and their numbers have exploded!

Sorelle Nash "Soranasha"

Sorelle Nash “Soranasha”

Sora is my second-ever WoW character, and has changed the least of any of my “oldbies”. She’s been the same race and faction since Vanilla, though she did get a haircut at one point. She had to complete the old quests to learn new demons, I remember the felhunter one was pretty involved. She wasn’t high enough to do the horse quest unfortunately, as I pretty much gave up on her in the low 40s. At the time, she was affliction, and while I had fun I really didn’t know what I was doing. I could kill stuff, but it took ages and required a lot of mob-juggling with fear. I ended up shelving her for many years. When I did RaF, she was 60 and I paired her with another of my characters and she got to 80. She’s now 87 and in Pandaria, and on her way to 90 — at long last. Storywise, she’s an interesting but rather tragic character to play. She was a magic student in Dalaran, before it was over-run (for the first time). She really considers herself more a fire mage than anything else, and doesn’t like calling her demons at all, though she does feel something of a bond with her imp, treating it almost like a pet. She fears her fellow Forsaken, and especially fears becoming more like them, losing what little memories remain of her old life. More than anything, she wants things to go back to how they were before everything bad happened. Currently, she’s studying fire magic with the Highborne, Andarthir.

Rhidi Copperbottom

Rhidi Copperbottom

Rhidi was a character I had on one of my previous RP servers, my concept for her was a strict schoolteacher. I never really got to RP with her, and I found that I disliked the low camera angle on gnomes — especially when your voidwalker likes to stand on you. She’s around level 50, but pretty old. I doubt that she’ll ever do much of anything though.

Lord Uldred Harrowmont

Lord Uldred Harrowmont

I rolled Uldred specifically to become my “DPS main” in Cataclysm, though I ended up using my hunter more instead. Unlike many of his fellow Gilneans, he’s horrified by what has happened to himself and his countrymen, and is searching for a way to undo their curse. This led him gradually to study the darker magics, and his curiosity and thirst for power got the better of him. He’s a restrained beast, normally able to keep his shifting under control, unless he’s extremely upset or in danger. Bookish and awkward, the demons have opened his eyes to things he’d never known before. He’s appeared in the Brambles storyline — he’s an acquaintance of Marjolaine’s — and is currently studying in Shattrath, where books on demon magic are less restricted.

Xanaroth Embersun

Xanaroth Embersun

Professor Xanaroth is my highest-geared Horde character, I guess he might be my Horde main if you look at it that way. Many would call him callous and cruel, he prefers to think of himself as practical and objective. He gives an impression of quiet control, and is reluctant to talk about himself or his past. His earlier experiments with demonic magic had tragic consequences, which contribute in large part to his present caution — but at the same time he seeks as much power as he is able to grab a hold of. He met the mage Vallindra in Dalaran and agreed to help with her ley-line studies, but he saw the potential there for more. She’s since learned to bind and summon demons under his instruction, and even was able to help hold the pit lord when the group ventured into the Black Temple. OOC, I’d really like to get him his green fire, but I don’t know when or if that’s ever going to happen. It was pretty rough last time, but he’s got about 20 more item levels now, so maybe it’s worth another try.

Faronna Cinderhand

Faronna Cinderhand

One of my RaF characters, I just really wanted a dwarf warlock. I think maybe she’s a Dark Iron, but she doesn’t really have a story. She is level 90 however!

Deadnettle

Deadnettle

Another RaF, half of the deader team (with Sorrowmoss). No story really, just wanted a cool mohawk dude.

Morwynne

Morwynne

And half of the Worgen RaF team (with Tremaine). I was gonna have her level as Demonology, as all the others are Destruction, but she’s still only 80. Maybe someday!
