[Story] Raleth's Notes

* I think Lali’s getting a little restless staying home so long. The healer said she needs to rest, but she said she’s already rested a week and is ready to go out now. Maybe kaldorei are different and need less time to recover. I mean, I can go out and get anything she needs, but I can’t really blame her for wanting to get some fresh air.

* Sorrahn is here though. We could just be walking and run into him, and that frightens me. It’s not that I want to keep her a secret from my family, except it kind of is. I know they’d all have a fit and say terrible things about me — not that I really care what they think anymore, but I don’t want them to try to hurt Lali or Naraleth. If Sorrahn found out anything he’d run right back to Mother and report it like a good little dog. I’ve reinforced the wards just in case.

* Naraleth is so tiny and cute. Lali is worried that he’s too small, but I told her babies are supposed to be small. I really don’t have anyone to compare him to, anyway. I know he’ll grown soon enough. She was wondering if he’ll be taller than me, I said probably. Then she wondered if he’d be taller than her, and I said I guess it was possible. Kaldorei men are taller than women usually. I should try writing to Vaelarian again, I think he’d like to see his grandson.  Well, great-grandson.

* Aeramin finished the translation, which I’m very grateful for, but I really don’t want it in the house. Especially now. I’m going to have to see if there’s a place at the library I can keep it, or perhaps a vault at the bank. That’s probably safer, especially since all sorts of people use the library. Speaking of, Sanimir showed up at the house last night. It was a little awkward at first, but Lali agreed to let him inside and we talked for a while. He’d brought a gift, a tiny robe and wand that Naraleth can wear when he’s a bit bigger. It really is cute, I think Lali said maybe Sanimir wasn’t so bad after all. He’s here in Outland with his apprentice, he said.  I had no idea he had one, I think he’s maybe a little young for it, but then I was rather young when I started too. It will help him learn as much as it will help the apprentice. He mentioned that she’s studying fire magic, so I suggested maybe she could come study with Lali. More friends for her would be good, and I’m sure they’d both enjoy having someone to practice with. Unless they spend their time looking at Naraleth, I said I could watch him while they practice. Of course if he gets hungry I’ll have to give him back. I’m trying to learn how to take care of him, but there’s a lot to remember. I hope I don’t ruin everything.
